Legends Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, founded in 2017 in New Brighton, Minnesota, is dedicated to rescuing animals, helping them decompress, trust humans, and find loving homes. Our mission is to transform animals' lives, watching them develop and thrive, while fostering a community of compassion and learning.

However, before they can find fur-ever homes, many have extensive medical needs. This fundraiser will be aimed at covering their medical costs. We'll have a Bahamas 5 introduction later this week!
Big updates at Legends! Lookout for a long post. Legends recently took in 5 dogs from an international transfer. These dogs were rescued from a variety of bad situations and are part of over 100 dogs needing care and extensive medical treatment.
Big updates at Legends! Lookout for a long post. Legends recently took in 5 dogs from an international transfer. These dogs were rescued from a variety of bad situations and are part of over 100 dogs needing care and extensive medical treatment. We are trying to raise funds for our 5- the Bahama Legends. Dutton needs hip surgery and Lois Lou and others are in various stages of cancer screening and treatments. We are trying to raise $5,200 to cover these costs. This will be the biggest fundraiser Legends has had to date. We know it's a lot to raise, but we believe we can do it! Here is a link to the main page, but there are several ways to donate. Expect more detailed posts soon! Some ways to donate are: 1) The "Donate" button on Legendsrescue.org, 2) The fundraiser link here: https://www.givemn.org/story/Dtg95g 3) Buying Legends Items like shirts, mugs, or cookies at Core Pet Zone 4) Emailing us with information for a paper check or other donations. Keep on the lookout for various fundraising events Legends will be attending over the summer! We're also looking for more fundraising opportunities if you know a business that would be willing to partner with us! Legends does not only have dogs, we have over 10 cats in rescue too! Not all are eligible for adoption as most of them are kittens and nursing mothers, but expect to hear a lot more kitten updates too. Please let us know if you're interested in fostering a litter of kittens!
Over the weekend Legends Rescue lost our secretary Lillian Gardas. She was 92 1/2, and much more than our secretary. She was a wonderful mother to 7, grandmother to 19 and great grandmother to 40. She will be greatly missed by many family and beloved

She has been with Legends since the beginning- Legends was started by her daughter Vicki in honor of her husband Hank “The Legend” Gardas. Her contributions has led to hundreds of animals finding their Furever homes. In lieu of flowers, Lillian asked that donations be made in her name. Today is the day! Lizzy is dropped off for her Cataract surgery. Send lots of good thoughts that she has a smooth day and swift recovery ❤️‍🩹 🐾
After a really long night in the emergency room, one of our sanctuary dogs crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈🐾 Santana, who’s almost always called Stan was a puppy mill breeder until November 2017. At 7 years old we rescued her and had her checke
After a really long night in the emergency room, one of our sanctuary dogs crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈🐾 Santana, who’s almost always called Stan was a puppy mill breeder until November 2017. At 7 years old we rescued her and had her checked out by a vet. She was diagnosed with cancer and given a prognosis of 6 months. With that news, rather than make her adoption eligible, Stan was our first dog to enter sanctuary. Needless to say, Stan beat that cancer. She also overcame a neurological issue that arose a year later with a similar prognosis. Then her cancer came back two other times. This January Stan just celebrated her 14th birthday. She was a huge fighter that loved life and looked forward to hugs after a trip outside. We’re all going to feel a little empty at Legends for a while without having Stan around. 💕🐾
